I think the whole LOLCATS trend is over. Is it? You know, I actually have no idea. I just haven’t heard much in the way of one asking if they can has chezburgah. Maybe the trend died out. Maybe those cats grew up. Maybe PETA put the kibosh on the whole thing, citing unethical treatment of animals and the negative portrayal of them as “stupider” than humans. Whatever the case may be, a select group of kittens, puppies, ducklings, and other baby animals have moved on and into a different genre; asking life’s awkward questions as well as delivering the bad news.
Think about it, right? You’re sitting in a doctor’s office waiting to hear the results of your bloodwork. The big, hulking MD comes back into the room as you sit atop the butcher’s paper trying not to slide off. He states bluntly, “It’s swine flu.” Damn. That sucks. Rewind. Same situation, except as the door creaks open this time, a puppy scampers in begging to be pet and licking your face. Awwww! What’s this? A note attached to its collar? “It’s swine flu.” Who cares?? I HAVE A PUPPY!!!!
