The Bowmentum of Failure: A special creation from BT Unique

Doing something a bit different this week, and because I’ve loved having her be in my company (albeit Internetally) these past few weeks, the one and only Kate from the now (in)famous, BT Unique, decided to design a few specialty bow for the ladies that find their way to the Momentum site. Nice of her, no? Let’s all say thanks. Thanks, Kate. Awww, that was grand, guys, good work. While her creations won’t soon sit on the necks of any gentleman, these designs would make a proper and quite stylish addition to your better half. Haven’t got one of those? Me neither. But would getting a girlfriend be a little easier with the promise of flashy bow tie necklaces in her future? It couldn’t hurt. With that in mind, we’re going to give these away right here and right now. All it’s going to take is for you to complete the following phrase*: “The perfect outfit for a girl to wear to accompany this bow tie necklace would be…” Throw it in the comments below. and let the games begin. Kate and I will choose the winner next Wednesday, 2/3/2010.

* Got this idea from SI. Thanks, guys.

  1. The perfect outfit for a girl to wear to accompany this bow tie necklace would be, what else, the little black dress. Of course, if one could rock the look, the open neck white button-up, a sixties pencil skirt, red pumps, and rimmed glasses would be damned sexy too… I’d totally wear this to the corporate meetings!

  2. her birthday suit and a smile, obvs

  3. The perfect outfit for a girl to wear to accompany this bow tie necklace (in the second picture, the striped one) would be dark blue denim leggings, a loose fitting racerback tank in medium gray, dark gray or black suspenders, and a cute pair of black open toe boots so that the colors of it and the sparkle silver gives it a bit of pop.

With the plaid color one, I would go for a little black dress that is fitted on the top sort of like the Audrey Hepburn dress from Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the bottom sort of puffy (taffeta-like), and above the knee about mid-thigh with sheer light black tights and sneakers (sort of Converse like) in a red maroon color (to match the red color in the bow tie) so that the bow tie and shoes give the outfit a masculine twist while still being ultra feminine in the LBD.

I would wear either of those outfits any day.

  4. How adorable!!

“The perfect outfit for a girl to wear to accompany this bow tie necklace would be… something neutral in color with lots of layers to let the bow do the eye-catching!”

  5. The perfect outfit for this necklace would be Kate’s skin.

  6. The perfect outfit for a girl to wear to accompany this bow tie necklace would be a rose color tee with paired with a pencil skirt that had a high waist so the shirt could be tucked in it and black sparkley tights to give it some flare 🙂 The necklace would be a nice piece for the shirt which would be plain but the necklace would get the attention it deserves when paired with those items.

  7. “The perfect outfit for a girl to wear to accompany this bow tie necklace would be AN outfit. This necklace is too great not to wear every day with every outfit.”

    They are truely amazing.

  8. “The perfect outfit for a girl to wear to accompany this bow tie necklace would be a stunning couture gown of matching fabric with spaghetti straps and a plunging neckline; strolling down the red carpet at an awards show. A stylish play on the notion of “black-tie” with tasty elegance and expression of “joie de vivre”. see example here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=172076&id=733061040&saved#/photo.php?pid=5147317&id=733061040

  10. Love these! Honestly I think these would complement any outfit, but I have two looks in mind.

“The perfect outfit for a girl to wear to accompany this bow tie necklace would be…”

An oversized chambray button down shirt (with the top buttons undone just enough to show off the bow tie necklace), black skinny pants and my vintage combat boots.

    OR

Cropped navy blazer, simple v-neck white tee or tank and blue skinny jeans with a pair of killer heels.

    Thanks for the giveaway!
