Advice: How do you know when you’re in love?

Times Square Kiss

Straying a bit from the style side and wanting to expand beyond the pretty girls and get everyone’s opinion on the matter, I wanted to simply ask a question with what can be a wildly complicated answer:

How do you know when you’re in love?

Let the answers fly…

  1. If you have to ask, you’re not in love.

  2. Intangible, agreed…

This doesn’t answer the question, but of relationships my wise mother always said, “both of you should feel like you’re getting the better end of the deal.”

    I’ve always liked that.

  3. you’ll just know. you can’t imagine a moment without that person.

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve had a few loves come and gone. Regrets and accomplishments. Can’t look back, though. Just learn and move on.

  4. I hate the way that the term gets bandied about. Infatuation is not love.

Love isn’t about a feeling–it’s about a willingness to serve someone no matter what. Love is dedication.

  5. It may sound simplistic, but for me it was clear over the many others I dated…we never ran out of anything to talk about. And we couldn’t wait to get together when apart to continue talking. Never forced, never infatuation, just deep respect and the ability to hang on every word she said. 10 years later, same.

  6. It’s that burning feeling in your body and your mind that you just can’t get that person out of your head. You know when your in love when your body acts before you tell it to by thinking.

  7. True love is when you put someone else’s happiness before your own… and you actually want to. It’s a rarity to find someone to do that. Or to find someone who you’d do that for. Would YOU go see “Valentine’s Day” in-theater? Yeah, swallow that one for a while.
