Congratalutions to Mark Mann for winning the tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center in Denver July 14th.

Enjoy! I expect a full report.

Here’s a chance to win a few tickets to see the man, the myth, the Simpsons cameo maker, James Taylor with the illustrious Carole King live at the Pepsi Center in Denver, July 14! All you gotta do is comment and fill in this blank.

“If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take ________ because _______.”

That’s it. Plus retweeting this post never hurts (http://bit.ly/b6EwI2). Winner will be announced at 5PM today, July 8 2010.

The tickets are very expensive which I am told means, “super rad seats.” I don’t know the row. Sorry. Good luck!

Details after the jump….

What: James Taylor & Carole King Live at the Troubadour Concert
Where: Denver, Pepsi Center
When: Wednesday, July 14
For what: supporting their CD/DVD Live at the Troubadour which was released May 4

Carole King and James Taylor are offering fans the opportunity-of-a-lifetime, to see two musical icons up-close-and-personal with ‘intimate and in the round’ Stage Seats on their Troubadour Reunion Tour. The VIP Stage Seats were designed as tables for two surrounding the center stage performance. The innovative design recreates the intimacy of a vintage nightclub within the high-energy atmosphere of a modern arena performance–paying tribute to Carole King and James Taylor’s legendary 1970 performances at L.A.’s famed Troubadour club.

All VIP Stage Seat Packages benefit established charities, including the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and Alliance for the Wild Rockies, which Ms. King and Mr. Taylor have long championed–plus more than 90 additional national and local charitable organizations. The VIP Stage Seat Packages are estimated to raise over $1 million for charity and are available for 37 of the Troubadour Reunion North American concerts.

VIP Stage Seat Packages are available exclusively at www.ticketsforcharity.com

VIP Stage Seat Packages include:

* One Stage Seat (arranged in tables for two)

* Special access to Carole King and James Taylor’s sound check session

* Pre-performance private reception with complimentary wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres

* Special Event Tour Laminate

* Commemorative Troubadour Reunion Tour Book

“When we first talked about reuniting, we knew we wanted to bring the Troubadour to life,” said Mr. Taylor. “These Stage Seats are one small way to pay homage. We also saw a national reunion tour as an opportunity to support the great work that charities are doing all across the U.S.”

“Creating this unique stage seating for charity was very exciting for me– and I felt, a very natural extension of my collaboration with James. We are both as passionate about the importance of giving back as we are about our music. And we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to positively impact so many outstanding social and environmental causes with this tour,” said Ms. King.

While the VIP Stage Seating packages are just now going on public sale, limited fan club pre-sales–in just a matter of days–raised over $600,000 for some of the nation’s most admired non-profits, including Autism Speaks, Habitat for Humanity and many more. These one-of-a-kind Stage Seat Charity Packages are now available for sale to the general public, and can be purchased by visiting www.ticketsforcharity.com or calling Tickets-for-Charity at 1-866-567-4576. 1. “If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take my girlfriend because I’ve finally found music that truly expresses how I feel about her; music that makes me feel the way she does.”

  2. This makes me so happy! I’ll totally play along.

If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I *would* take my mom or dad because they are the ones who made me listen to hours and hours of Sweet Baby James when I was a kid. However, neither of them live in Denver, so I would take someone who has the same type of experience 🙂

  3. Heather Thill

If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take the memory of my Mom in heart, because she is the reason I love James Taylor and because she deemed my life long song to be “Fire and Rain” due to a year where I caught on fire and almost went over a cliff in a car wreck because of a bad rain storm in West Virginia. I promised her I’d see James Taylor live in concert before she died and I haven’t had the opportunity. Physically, I’d take my friend Erin – because she loves Carole King as much as I love Sweet Baby James. 🙂

  4. If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take my mom because her default lullaby to me when I was a baby was Sweet Baby James. And my name is James! Also, Carole King is one of her favorite artists.

  5. If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take my wife because I love her dearly and she deserves a night out on the town after having a rough start to the summer.”

  6. If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take my mom because I love her and appreciate music because of her.

  7. Simone Verhulst

If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take my Dad because I didn’t get him a father’s day gift* this year (*to clarify, we all went hiking & spent quality time together, but there was no physical gift- so this would be rad and I wouldn’t feel like a cheapskate 🙂 )

  8. “If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center I would take someone who I would feel comfortable crying in front of because James and Carole together performing live would make me melt. Hell, I cry when they perform on the Today Show. I love their history and booming voices.

  9. If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take… no one! As much as I like James Taylor, my boyfriend’s parents are big fans of both and I know how much they would like to go. They are such generous people and do so much for us; they are the closest things I have to relatives in Denver and I want to show them how much I appreciate them.

  10. If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would scalp them and make some money. Just kidding, I would totally take my girlfriend Stephanie because I love James Taylor and have always dreamed of seeing him in concert.

  11. “If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take my cycling coach, Tyler Hamilton, because he is a big fan and deserves to know he is appreciated.”

  12. “If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take my husband Matt because we have been through so much and come out stronger, we deserve a date night.”

  13. “If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take ___my beautiful wife_____ because _she is 7 months pregnant and being a great sport!_____.”

  14. If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take my brother because we both have an incredible appreciation for James Taylor’s music and I think we have listened to his greatest hits album more times any other album by any artist…brings back so many memories. And I will write a guest post for you about the show if I win! Great contest, thanks for the opportunity!

  15. If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would give the tickets to my mother and father because I cannot think of anyone who deserves them more. When James Taylor and Carole King were at the height of their popularity, my parents were fighting to build a life together. They were working hard, creating the world into which they would eventually bring my siblings and I. Now that my youngest sibling is leaving for college, they finally have the free time to pursue the things they love. I would love nothing more than to present them with these tickets for their thirtieth wedding anniversary as a thank you for all the selflessness they have demonstrated over the years. As we are not in Denver, I cannot afford the tickets and the airfare for them to attend. I thank you for considering my request.

  16. “If I won tickets to see James Taylor and Carole King at the Pepsi Center, I would take the first girl since i’ve moved here to colorado 6 months ago that even now i cant stop thinking about her because I know she’s sitting in her cube thinking about me (and loves james taylor).”
